Today I fulfilled an ambition of many years and rode the gateway trail out to Stillwater on the St. Croix. A little less than 70 miles for the round trip so no big deal, but it took years to figure out a halfway decent route to the trailhead because the city of St. Paul does basically nothing to improve or maintain roads or trails. The gateway itself is in maybe 5.5/10 condition until you get outside the main freeway look that encircles the twin cities. After that it's a nice clean -2% descent into the river valley.
I have better riding available and I don't know if I will bother with it again, but it's nice to have the box ticked.
