Realistically 3-4 is the max I can practically store, maintain, and use at this point in my life. I used to own many and also flip bikes, had 21 at one point and that was too many.

There's a limit to how often you can post your bikes unless you've made interesting changes or gotten new ones.

Yes, putting new parts on a nice older frame is a normal thing to do. There's a thread on Bikeforums.net about this with literally thousands of examples.
