>>1338798My BB is beyond worn out and needs to be replaced but the cranks are seized to the square taper so I might have to cut the BB spindle and possibly get new cranks. I was thinking of going full autism and going external BB but have a hard time justifying spending my bike's cost on a replacement whole new drivetrain without knowing the benefits of external vs internal BB.
Fresh drivetrain with external BB will cost $200. An internal will be about half that if I need new cranks, $50 if I don't. What I'm wondering is, is external BB better than internal ISO square taper? This bike goes to hell and back. You all know I'm a courier so it sees rain, snow, salt, sand, everything.
