brakes and shifters are normally a weak point on cheap bikes
36 spoke wheels are briddy strong, and most bikes now have double walled wheel rims
hub bearings and bottom bracket are worth keeping an eye on, make sure their condition is good
free-wheel hubs do have a tendency to bend their axles, but this is only provoked by heavy use , eg cargo load exceeding 300 lbs, or off road use
