The crank is a triple chainring. They're almost impossible to get the front derailleur to shift properly. It's just too much. Just make sure your two most used rings shift properly and ignore the third one.
Yeah man that bike is pretty fun to ride. Get a saddle that you like. Something comfy. This isn't a road bike, this is a cruiser. It's slow but comfortable so it eats up the miles like nothing.
