I would much rather say 'Bicycles must have 2 wheels, 2 brakes, have a wheelbase less than 7 feet, and have the rider in an upright position' and leave it to engineers to figure out the rest. As it is, frames are right up against the positions allowed, and all the R&D money and effort is being poured into a less than optimal design. It would be cool to let software optimize the topology and aerodynamics of frames.
