Also thinking about getting a mountain bike for some off road stuff but that seems even more difficult to find where to ride.

Plan is to use it for some short distance road riding in a suburban/small city setting. I wasn't really satisfied with any geared road bikes for the same price range, so I went with this one.

It's not that hilly where I plan to ride so I don't think the fixed gear will be a huge problem. If I get to a spot that's too tough I'll walk it up.
