My mum is 47yo, and likes to cycle to work.
Her bike has a 13-28 7 speed cassette, and a single chainring.
As it stands, she hardly ever uses any gears but the two or three largest gears. Even on the largest gears, she sometimes struggles, so I'm looking to swap her crankset to a smaller one and get her a cassette with a larger big ring.
I'm looking to replace her cassette. I have a choice between a Shimano CS-HG200 12-32 (12/14/16/18/21/26/32) or a Shimano MF-TZ500 14-34 (14-16-18-20-22-24-34T). Question is : the MF has a very large granny gear, which I know will be very easy for her, but it then jumps straight down to 24, which is quite a jump. The CS-HG has a slightly more reasonable spacing, but the largest cog only has 32 teeth.
Which one do you think she'll have an easier time with? Pic related.
