Dallas was already pretty city-like so seeing a bunch of tall buildings going up downtown isn't a radical change.
Houston was extremely sprawled but it has so far to go before it's walkable there's still work to be done.
Overall I think the change doesn't happen with giant towers but with the smaller mid-rise buildings filling in gaps here and there.
