>>1212520Been skating for the past 4,5 years.
I mostly just use it to ride through the city instead of buses/trams, i rarely do tricks, so i see it mostly as just my means of transportation.
Penny boards are crap. I mean, sure, they are small and easy to carry but riding them is not really pleasant, especially for longer distances.
Longboards are great if you plan to ride far, but they are bigger and heavier, so for me it's not a good choice.
I'd recommend any skateboard deck with the size 8" - 8,5", some good bearings (so you can keep your speed and don't have to push every 2 meters) and trucks.
Just recently got a new deck and put my old trucks on it
left:
Enjoi x Dan Drehobl deck 8.25"
right:
Welcome 8.6" deck
tensor light trucks
bones wheels (street formula)
hard luck bearings
currently waiting for avenue trucks to come in, had them back in the days but they broke.
those are great on bumpy roads, take a lot of vibrations out so it's great on shitty streets. plus all the things it does if you do tricks (more pop, etc)
