>>1168519Almost got T-boned the other day. Pic related, cage was going through a gap in line of cars waiting at light, from my angle I couldn't see the gap. Fucker was zooming through it too. Cages do not see a bike lane as a "real" lane they need to check. If this was a two lane cage road they'd look before passing through, but it's a bike lane so they act like we don't exist. This is a direct consequence of these shitty "paint a bike symbol on a shoulder and it's a magic bike lane now" style lanes. Proper separated lanes or even properly painted, designated, widened bike lanes would not have this problem. I dont' think most cages even realize these shoulder-lanes are bike lanes at all.
I still don't wear a helmet. What good will it do when a cage crushes my ribcage and pierces my lungs and organs?
I'll give it that it's partially my fault for not being paranoid after every store entrance or driveway i pass by that a cage may tear into/out of it blindly at any moment.
