So I think I need a new bike. I got two already, but they were both free. One was found in the trash which I currently use. I just fixed the wheels and cleaned them a little, but it takes me to work. The other was from my uncle, but the front wheel was 27" and the back 29", and the back kept getting fucked up, and the speeds didn't switch smoothly (I couldn't get the fastest one, no matter how much I adjusted them), so that's why I am using the other one (which is also a 27" and I'm 185cm/6'1 or 6'2"?).
That's why I have been looking for a new bike for a few months now, but have decided to pull the trigger now. These two are my two options. I want a versatile bike which will take me to my job (a less than 10 minute ride but with some pretty steep, idk how much, but another I take when I go somewhere else isn't that much despite being much larger.
Anyway, I will post a pic of my other bike and maybe someone could recommend if I should just get new wheels or what to do to fix it well.
And if it's better to just buy a new bike, these two are my options. I will probably only buy from Decathlon, because they are the cheapest with more options. These are the same price, but one has "less" stuff but with more quality, I think, like the brakes and such. The other, on the right, looks to have everything I need already but I wanted that hydraulic brake. Also, I love that front light, because literally all the other options are easy to take off, and I will be leaving the bike outside a lot.
Also, other than going to work with the bike, I plan to do some light travel. I live on Ibiza, a tiny island, with some steeps, and an even smaller island (where I plan on going first) below it with much better roads for cycling and more plain. So I want to ride on paved roads for like 95% of the time and maybe 70% when I go on a trip, and the rest on off road/dirt roads or even sand.
These are 450€ and 430€ respectively. I don't want to spend more than 600€.
