>>1164503The bike shares all have stations where you check them out from, but the scooters are just left all over the place, and they are unlocked with a cell phone app. Couldn't do that with manual bikes obviously since people would forget to lock them and they'd get stolen. The scooters are GPS tracked and they don't work unless they're unlocked with a smartphone.
