Quite a few people have their Christmas lights on already. With 40+ cm of snow in the forecast there is a bit of a rush to get them up. I put mine up early but don't plug them in until later. I'll have to try taking my old camera and see if it does better in the dark. My newer camera doesn't let you manually set exposure / ISO.
It got a lot colder than I was expecting this evening. I took my jacket and expected to be overheating, but I ended up regretting not bringing my shoe covers.
