>>1686990Nah, around town maybe but not while going between cities fully loaded. Sometimes I do that with just water bladder or just the computer for commuting or quick grocery store runs but I prefer to not be wearing one while riding.
The combined backpack / luggage + panniers looks like it has a savings 1/4 -1/2 kg over a separate backpack, so I'll prolly keep most of the electronics in something like that and then do a similar waterproof briefcase / messenger / shoulder strap style bag on the other side with an equivalent weight of batteries / clothes / whatever, It's a little bit heavier than regular rear panniers but they're still lighter than carrying an extra backpack, plus it forces me to only have waterproof bags (can't accidentally fuck up as easily), and when I'm stopped and unpacked for a month it should give me options for going around whatever town i'm in.
At least thats the thinking right now.
