I'd describe a Dutch commuter (that isn't an Omafiets with a coaster brake) as a bike with a Shimano Nexus hub gear. For some reason, the Dutch think this is a "hybrid", and anything with derailleurs is either a Treking bike or a Racefiets.
The only thing I can say is that my type of riding will have no off-roading, so having access to thinner, faster rolling tyres would be very nice to have. I have also considered just buying a Triban 100 from Decathlon and just throwing everything but the frame away, but those are also out of stock.
