I fixed the rear derailleur shifter but front one would work, but then go back to having issues unless you opened it up again, so just decided to go 1x since chink crank set is only half as much as a new shifter. I swamped the stem and bars to test what I might want to buy, but I will leave them and save the $35. Then had to get new pedals, a tube grips, end caps chain, maybe $100 in it .
The 20 year old whatever sort of sidewall material they used is breaking down, more of it was on my legs after changing the tube then on it lel.
My mother wants my 820 to replace her walmart bike and I wanted something lighter, I will try it on trails and see how it goes, I don't plan on jumping off bridges so I doubt the wheels will be an issue. I might by a wider range cassette at some point but tires are a head of that.
