A thread died for this so this seems as good a place as any since otherwise it's a total waste of a thread.
It's n+1 time, I've been riding the same steelisreal touring bike every day for the last 30k miles and I want something faster for weekend fun rides. Been eyeing a Canyon or a Giant for a while but just for fun I went into the Trek store the other day to see what entry level bikes they had. The store guy gave me a sort of laugh when I asked what entry level road bikes they had in carbon for around $2k. Apparently that's not a thing? Am I missing something here? Why does it seem like Specialized and Trek only offer these sorta half-ass hybrid monstrosities or overkill aero racers? From what I can tell from the fancier ones you get some sort of micro-suspension? Is that really such a big deal?
Pic related, I think I might get this and maybe a power meter or some yoeleo wheels, what am I missing out on otherwise?
