Power requirements below that speed differ very mildly and with +/-5rpm cadence variance it is trivial to recover. In the over-30 range aerodynamics really starts to kick in with is velocity-squared drag. That is where you want closely spaced gears.
But since you are a triple advocate - pic related is an 1x13 over 41 versus 3x10 50/39/30 over 11-32. With 1x13 you get more high speed gears ( 5 on 1x, 2 on 3x, pretty darn significant ) the same sequence of gears on the mid range and, granted, less range. If that is really the reason to pay for the complication weight brought by triple rings? Or double, for that matter?
