I recently picked up a brand new dropper post from a friend for free. I really want to put it on my Anthem (pictured). Its a 27.2 dropper. Originally the bike came with a 27.2 seat post and a 31.7 seat tube with a shim. Previous owner swapped them for a carbon seat post but gave me both the carbon seat and the old seat/shim.
So I go to put in my dropper and gues what... it don't fit for shit. The shim wont fit in the seat tube at all. I look at the carbon post and its a fucking 30.9. So ive been crushing my seat tube to hold it in (no wonder it never quite fit right). So now the top of my seat tube is crushed in and undersize. I can see the deformation of the rim of the tube, very slight but ever present. I tried prying on the slot to loosen the tube but it didn't help much.
Wat do?
