If it's condos (which it often is), the developer will likely put in poured concrete floors and big (compared to prewar) double or triple glazed windows. Sponsors love that shit compared to a conversion, because you don't have to worry about plumbing disasters or boiler failures or god knows what else that will cost a fortune when you find out the old shit was grandfathered in. It upsets the people who don't live in cities because they want a nice photogenic museum neighborhood, but those people can get fucked. Also it's better quality of life for the people who live inside.
