If I was in a responsible person's cabinet in charge of the infrastructure, I would fund rails and cycling infrastructure in urban and suburban areas. I would work with congress to subsidize ebikes to bring their cost down to a real level. And mandate large bike racks in every city
I would order the destruction of all highways everywhere to be rebuilt and repurposed for emergency vehicles only.
Also offer a tax break for any city that trades in their useless sports stadiums for velodromes and public exercise venues.
Would offer tax breaks for companies to tear down gas stations and build electric car charging ports. And subsidize a program that helps charging stations swap out charged batteries for customers drained ones and recharge them
I would also fund repairing our water system. Like 70%ish of water pipes in the US are old or damaged
