>>1584607Here's what I did, admittidly it takes longer & to get the results of an applicator it takes more effort but I think it looks OK (would have chosen a better image but most I have of my layout are too big)
1. Get a plastic bottle & dump your static grass in it, shake for at least 20 minutes
2. Cut a hole/s in the lid, apply PVA to where you want your grass & shake over that area
3. Seal with a PVA / water mist or ideally hairspray (I didn't have any)
4. Repeat until you are happy with the results, you can comb or hoover to manipulate it upwards if you use too much PVA mist/ hairspray
My method cost as much as the grass & a bottle of tonic water. It was my first proper go at it (much learnt) & I need to go over a lot of areas again, but it's far far less expensive than buying an applicator. I also used some turf blends underneath to layer in different textures & got some grass "bushes" which blend it all in better imo.
