pic related is an excellent overall no-nonsense package imo, it even has curved fork blades. especially since a lot of the road bikes with rim brake options have been discontinued and the higher tier models are out of most people's budget, it simplifies the choice to something like this unless you want something more niche like a fixed gear or a steel bike
