So, I put my eyes on a GT Sanction 2011, popped up on the used bikes around here so I'll be able to try it first hand.
Only thing that puts me off is that the owner put a 180mm Suntour Durolux up front, I'll have to inquire about that, and I wonder if that didn't stress the frame, as it was built for a 160mm fork (I think not, 20 extra mm should be alright)
Provided that I'll check it well over and haggle down AT LEAST to 350€ (about 400 USD), is this a bike that I'll be able to keep and upgrade along its "service life"? Or there's some huge shortcomings that make it not worth it? (Yes, I know it's a 26", but no biggie, I'll get to keep my current rubber.)
It has a 150mm Fox rear shock, drivetrain is a mix of SRAM and Shimano (X0 rear derailer, X9 shifters, SLX front derailer, shimano cassette... it's a 2x9), wheels are DT swiss alloy 32h so with any luck they won't be all broken and out of true.
