>>1615258I live in a place where there is a 100% chance of steep hills anywhere you go. Sure you can spin a road bike up those hills, and as a kid I rode/pushed my bike anyway. The ebike adds a whole new realm of exploration and it has been the most fun I’ve had riding a bike in decades since I made my own diy ebike in 2019. Direct drive hub motors are silent, and if you pedal along, which I enjoy and always do, very stealthy. I used the bike I hadn’t ridden in 10 years and owned since new... a 2004 Specialized P2 dirt jumper. Put a 1500W Aliexpress kit on it. Goes 60 km/h but most fun at normal bike speeds. Being a DJ it is like riding a 26” BMX around the city... very fun. Go ahead and make fun of it but I don’t care... had way too much fun with this thing in the last two years.
