In reality, even the CEOs of the most advanced AI driving companies are openly admitting that real Level 5 automation won't come around for at least several decades, but those idiots just stick their fingers in their ears and la-la-la about how Humans Need Not Apply. It's so bad that corrupt and/or stupid state governments are beginning to roll out these L5 certifications to vehicles that are only barely L4. It's a disaster waiting for happen.
All the while urgent investment into modern infrastructure and walkability/public transit//cyclelanes is being delayed because supposedly Silicon Valley are going to "solve traffic" any day now so why bother?
