Just so you interpret this correctly: a Chevy Tahoe drives down a stretch of road--to cause an equivalent amount of damage, you would need ~60,000 cyclists to ride over that same patch of road.
What causes damage to bike lanes? Motor vehicles, snow plows, tree roots, soil subsidence... bicycle traffic is far down the list.
