I made a pair of USB to barrel adapters to try with my heated gloves. 5V USB with the controller set to high generates a bit less heat than my 7.4V batteries set to low. I should be able to not even use the controller and just plug straight into the battery.
A few days ago I was looking to buy an adapter but couldn't find one. Today I searched again and found one, I must have been a little off with my search terms. The non-hack ones are more compact and stronger since they are molded into a single piece of plastic. I would have ended up making a pair anyway since it will be a month or more before the ones from aliexpress arrive.
