>>1740288What is the pay as a 1st eng. on a "EU flagged" vessel(what flag??")? Where I live a 1st engineer would make around 70k eur/year, and while not spectacular it's alright.
>>1740438Depends on the sailor I guess. But we spend quite litterly half our time onboard so talking about other people is a common topic to make the time pass. Honestly far better than listening to some idiot who believes he has figured out the answer to every political question ever asked.
>>1739714Hey anon congrats on getting a job. Seems like "Curtin Maritime" has fleet of tired small boats. It wont be luxurious, and from my experience hours of rest is more of a guideline than a regulation on these small vessels. Regardless, it's a good place to start. At least health and safety won't get in the way. Also recommend reading some safety flashes from IMCA if youre going to be working on a tug or barge. I don't know if people on these vessels are stupid or just want to die, but they sure love getting crushed to death and dying in enclosed spaces.
