It s not that trains made in the UK can't be sold elsewhere. the small loading gauge domestically is a plus point since it makes our rolling stock almost universal, it's that there is no will to export when there are plenty of orders right here that need to be fulfilled.
We have sold old locos across Europe. So saying they are unsuitable anywhere else is just retarded. Even SNCF have used ancient Class 20s on engineering trains building TGV lines.
