Here's the same data segregated by type. A handful have separate lines with different gauges, and those scores are combined at those locations.
>>1276827The number of operating days is not included, as that is something that would be too difficult to track.
>>1276831That has more to do with the technical side. Having just one steam locomotive in operation is impressive, but having that many is beyond impressive.
>>1276894Do you mean the miniature Lilly Belle from Carolwood or the full-size Lilly Belle from Disney World? They were built in 1949 and 1928 respectively, many years before Walt died.
>>1276918Size plays a big roll. It's more notable from a technical standpoint to have a standard gauge steam locomotive running than a 19-inch-gauge one. Also, to be precise, Walt was interested in including a railroad at Disneyland before he visited the BJWRR, but it was the experience of trying to buy unused miniature locomotives from Billy Jones (he didn't because he was asking too much for them) that made him decide to go with a much larger railroad. As far as the inspiration for creating the DRR in the first place goes, that honor is shared between Walt's Carolwood Pacific Railroad and Ward Kimball's Grizzly Flats Railroad.
