i can't remember the last time i took a walk and didn't almost get hit by a cage. here's what i face every week for buying groceries...they have a fascination here with putting construction signs on the sidewalk. the cages waiting to turn can't see me standing there. if i move forward so they can see me, i'm standing in the busy street. when they get the turn light they just gun it and don't look. i try to make eye contact but id' have to walk out to give them the eye, and anyway, most windows are blackened so i can't see the driver and tell whether he does or does not see me. they literally do NOT look for peds. had a cunt turn right and nearly kill me because she simply never bothered to look if there was a ped trying to cross on the pedlight. luckily her window was down and i could see that she wasn't looking. if the window was up and shaded like most cars, i'd be in a hospital. just walking around my neighborhood.
ped infrx is an afterthought. and this is a city purportedly ped-friendly. my asshole it is.
