how to file down lawyer lips? apparently it's a common thing to do but there aren't any instructional videos or articles. it seems like it would be very tedious to do it while being careful not to slip with the file and mess up the rest of the fork. i would prefer to do it with the fork standing upright so that there will be less cleanup from the shavings falling down and i would like to avoid touching the paint to avoid scratching it and getting greasy fingerprints on it. i could use pix related as a brace so that the fork legs aren't flopping around too much but then what? masking tape and a plastic washer to protect the area surrounding the lawyer lips? i don't need the lips to be totally flat, just less than like 1mm because i will use a 1.2mm or 2mm metal washer. the reason why i'm filing down the lawyer lips is that i'm going to use M9 titanium nuts which were modeled after the M10 nuts so that flange is too big to fit next to the lawyer lips.
