The arm pads were kinda beat up and they attract too much attention from stealers around here so i figured i might as well just get rid of them. I've been using those riser handlebars since forever and i got really fond of holding it close to the stem and i didnt want to loose this hand position option so i decided to put the aerobars closer to the grips; that way i can either: hold on the riser grips, close to the stem, on the aerobar curvature or on the aerobar ends behind the handlebar. This way i can get in a fairly confy upright position when needed or get down on a more tucked aero position when the gofast autism kicks in.
I've been comparing the times on a one mile circuit i usually train on and so far it seems like i can get about 3-4km/h faster on the flat while assuming the aero-ish position, even with the bars so far apart.
Yes, i taped them with some old innertubes i had around.
