>>1246140>get a wald axle mount basketMan... I don't think I can do that. I like it stripped down and naked. It's nice to be able to throw it on the front of the bus rack with one hand. My messenger bag wouldn't fit in it. Thought about getting saddle bags before, but $$$. I should really just get a cruiser for shopping.

>Also the Park Tool website...Those people make videos on repairs and I had just found them and will be using, thanks!
Also, I have a bunch of credit on Amazon from a gift card so I'm trying to burn through that instead of spending cash.
>>1246200Fair enough. Not really looking to spend money I don't have anyways, was just thinking about preventative maintenance. Not really noticing a lot of slipping.
>>1246202>Changing cables is cheap and easy...Yeah I'm not bothering with the shifting cables, just the brakes.
>especially if the customer doesn't know anything about bike maintenance.DING DING DING!
I don't think they've been trying to rip me off over the years, but they're probably going with my attitude of "just fix everything and make it ride like new" when I go in there.
The estimate was ~$500 (fenders, saddle, tires, and general tune-up).
Brake pads arrived today, and the lube that I'm not sure I need.
Not using my rear brakes currently because the wear line is worn through. The fronts are getting to the same point. My brake handles(?) bottom out (even with tweaking the fine-tuning adjusters(?)) so, I should put new cables on, right? They're like $12.
Also, why did I buy that lube? I thought I was supposed to put it on the cables inside the tubing.
Here's the computer I was going to build with the Amazon gift card $$$ but can't now
