Assuming you mean Captain and First Officer, the Captain flies from the left and the First Officer flies from the right. Instructors fly from the right unless teaching a First Officer or instructor trainee. IROs/Second Officers fly from either seat, left or right. During single pilot ops, the solo pilot sits on the left.
Normally a solo pilot sits on the left, not the right. What does "it could happen" mean? Most Commercial pilots can fly from either seat, all instructors can and will fly wither side. Even a pilot who has never sat in the right seat will be expected to sit in the right and perform to standards when starting a FO job. You don't know anything about aviation.
