>>1394789because public tranportation is garbage and the only people who disagree are bikefags who have no other choice. i ride my bike when i need to go anywhere near a population center not because i don't want to ride my car but because it is the fastest ways to get anywhere. the superiority of the bikerider to the busrider becomes painfully obvious when passing them sitting at their stop waiting for someone else to pick them up and drive them vaguely in the direction they want to go. the mind set of the cyclist and that driver are quite similar. both prefer their autonomy over the company of fuckups. both have a place to go. what both don't understand is that their respective modes of transportation have a place and a time. the cyclist doesn't want to admit that cars have their place and the driver doesn't want to admit that cycling has it place. when i want to go to the city for some light shopping i will ride my bike and when i want to visit my mother out in the country i will drive my car. because the city is flat and the way to my mother is full of steep hills. the thing that both paths have in common though is that there are buses that drive to both. and i would never even consider riding them unless i was absolutely without any alternatives. public transport is the last resort for the destitute. and the only people who don't understand this are busriders.
