This train is noteworthy because it was the first Talgo which could change gauge, so it could travel from Spain to France and beyond without changing bogies. It's initial route was the Catalán Talgo, Barcelona to Geneva in just under 10 hours. It was the first spanish train to become part of the Trans Europ Express network.
Ironically, 50 years later, Spain has no direct trains to Switzerland anymore.
