You are spoiled by 10 years of a growing economy that you actually resent it now, sad! In Europe the job markets are so saturated that you have to apply to convoluted jobs programs to get work without some kind of networking or inside connection. And even skilled labor is finding low starting salaries.
In the united states the last ten years have seen constant DYNAMISM with old buildings being torn down and new business springing forth and the constant hustle and bustle of opportunity. Many times I have fucked up my living situation and each time i was able to get a job within a few days, and this is without a great resume. That is just not an option in Europe so if you fuck up your living situation your only option is to beg the government Mafia for money and they are most likely going to find some reason to turn you away as their systems are saturated.
