Both are simulators with a wonderful atmosphere, in part due to their excellent ATC system. The aircraft systems simulation is very basic, but that's more than made up for by the sense of flying in a living world with lots of attention to the little details. To my eyes (but I accept, not to everyone's, especially with FS2020 now) the photo scenery still looks more than adequate for the sort of simulator it is.
If Microsoft Flight Simulator is "as real as it gets", Flight Unlimited is as soulful as it gets.
