I do know that almost all fixies/ SS have similar total inch of gear or whatever, it's like the top speed any out of shape person tops out at on flat level ground. If you're in shape and want more speed, you can get a larger chainring that usual. If you're really out of shape, or simply want to be able to climb some hills, go with smaller than usual chain ring.
