Here's the exact wording of the ordinance.
>Wherever a usable path for bicycles has been provided adjacent to a roadway, bicycle riders shall use such path and shall not use the roadway.Sidewalks qualify as a "usable path for bicycles". Even if they didn't, there's still nothing banning riding on the sidewalk.
My state probably considers cyclists a nuisance and was trying to get them off the roads. But frankly I'd rather use the sidewalk. It's closer to a bike path than sharing the road with cars.
