Just know that people in cars are not looking for cyclists and unless you're doing something flagrant that gets their attention they will barely notice you at all.
As for the anxiety I have that too and wearing headphones at a low volume so you can still hear traffic around you might help. Yes thats slightly dangerous but its something the police generally do not enforce since again its not a revenue source for them.
