One trend that I hate is fully integrated cabling. Yes, it looks neato but it locks people into electronic shifting and into proprietary designs for the handlebar, stem, and headset. It also means that mechanical shifting is on the way out for the top tier groupsets. In a few years all of the good road frames will be electronic-only, hydraulic disc-only carbon nightmares, and there's nothing anybody can do to stop it.
