I read one paper with 500% error in some measurements and another claiming 3.6 mm/yr and 7.7 mm/yr were the 'same' velocity without any discussion of error or uncertainty at all.
I like rocks, but not the way the geology folks do.
I'm happy enough getting my qualitative lessons from the side of the road.
