One ran over my foot. I passed a street, which was clear of cages, and crossed. I heard a cage coming along which must have been some few hundred metres away, but the moment my right foot was not quite yet on the safety of the pavement, I felt the immense, dull shock of something running over my foot. The guy did a classic hit and run at first, leaving my in agony on the pavement, but drove back about three minutes after hitting me to see if I'm okay. He wore dark sunglasses and seemed even kind of pissed, as if it were my fault that he did like 60 kph in a narrow street.
Miraculously, my foot did not incur permanent damage (my shoes did). I was just unable to walk without intense pain for all of the remaining day, and learnt the lesson that it's my responsibility to expect the recklessness of cagers.
