I'm a manual lathe operator with good experience and I hear tale that freighters sometimes have machine shops in their mechanical rooms. I've always been interested in working on a ship and I'd love to do some machine/maintenance work on one. But the kicker is that I would strongly prefer to be on the great lakes to stay close-ish to home relatively speaking. Am I delusional or is there something to work with here?
