I am the guy who has opted for 56 because the shop doesn't have 54 frame available.
Now I have put the geometry numbers into a visualizer to compare it with the 54, and there is barely a difference in the effective reach, meaning saddle front to the handlebar front, 522 mm vs. 530 mm.
With the smaller frame I have a bigger drop, that equalize that smaller top tube and making the effective reach longer again.
So in the end if a 56 over stretches me, a 54 won't change much either?
Guess I need a different bike series then from another brand.
