>>1423447Gear I wished I had was some waterproof panniers. I should have just paid the $150 instead of using a rain cover and dry bags. The rain over there is constant. It's not heavy and hard like where I'm from. It just never stops and seeps into everything.
Hydrapack was useless. Water was not as big of an issue as I thought. That was an old habit. Still a little difficult to find open water faucets. They lock a lot of them up.
I wished I had an unlocked phone. Big advice. If you go bring one and put a sim card in. I ended up renting a mobile hotspot. VERY expensive. Probably cost me about 350 for the month. Convenient for when you are in the middle of nowhere or lost in the urban sprawls and cant find a convenience store. Saved us a couple times, but a phone would have been cheaper.
